Our Story

We both attended Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island where we first met. Ray graduated with a degree in culinary arts and restaurant management, and Jamie in baking/pastry and entrepreneurship. After graduation, we started dating and opened up our first location in Providence before we moved back home to Connecticut in 2013. That same year we opened up The Berlin Lunchbox where we served lunch and our famous cupcakes. In 2017, Ray proposed! This wasn't the end of our culinary journey as we found ourselves in need of a bigger location to accommodate our rapid growth. That's what led us here to Branford where we settled into our cozy shop in the Brushy Hill Plaza. When it came down to settling on a name, we couldn't think of anything more perfect than Love Bakery & Café, a name that celebrates the love we have for each other and what we do. We've been happily married since 2019 and have enjoyed every minute of our time together at Love. We are both immensely proud and invested in what we do, and we hope you taste the Love in every bite!
